Elderly or

housebound people

Do you want to make a difference

for a teenager

by praying for him?

WHAT DO I COMMIT TO?

You commit to be at the foot of the cross like St John, taking Mary as a mother, and offering your sufferings with Jesus, contemplating His pierced heart and receiving all the graces that come from Him with a young person especially given to you in your heart.

The commitment is for a month and can be renewed as often as wished.

The importance is the praying of the heart/offering the sufferings while keeping the young person in your heart, nothing else matters.

If you want or are able to do so:

  • You can start your day with the consecration of St Louis-Marie Grignon de Montfort.

“In the presence of all the heavenly court I choose thee this day for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to thee, as thy slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God in time and in eternity.” Amen

  • Or the prayer of father Rookey

“Lord Jesus, I come before you, just as I am, I am sorry for my sins, I repent of my sins, please forgive me. In your Name, I forgive all others for what they have done against me. I renounce Satan, the evil spirits and all their works. I give you my entire self, Lord Jesus, now and forever. I invite you into my life, Jesus. I accept you as my Lord, God and Saviour. Heal me, change me, strengthen me in body, soul, and spirit. Come Lord Jesus, cover me with your Precious Blood, and fill me with your Holy Spirit. I love you Lord Jesus. I praise you Jesus. I thank you Jesus. I shall follow you every day of my life. Amen. Mary, My Mother, Queen of Peace, all the Angels and Saints, please help me. Amen.”

  • You can stop around 3PM and say the chaplet of the Divine Mercy.
  • During your day, you can repeat “Lord I trust in you”

HOW CAN I START ?
  • You just need to phone the parish or send an email to register your interest
  • The co-ordinator will then contact you, you will fill a consent form with your details (address, phone, email, next of kin) and a priest will come and visit you if you are housebound (you can sign the form with him of course) or you will be invited to come to our prayer gathering in Ealing abbey (usually the last Friday of the month. Check the parish bulletin or the home page of this website, please).
  • You will be blessed and sent on mission by the priest and will receive an image of the Divine Mercy.
  • As soon as a parent/Godparent request a call for prayer for a young person, the coordinator phones you and gives you the name of the teenager to pray for. The parent/Godparent send you by post some details with the first name of the teenager.
  • You commit to pray for a whole month.
  • At the end of the month, the parent/Godparent will let you know if they would like you to carry on praying for their teenager by sending you a letter/an email/giving you a phone call or by visiting you if they wish. You can decide if you want to pursue the following month.

If you would like to know more, contact us and we will be happy to answer your question.

TOGETHER
  • Weekly communion of heart

You are all invited to be in communion, praying for one another.
It would be special if everyone involved could pray on Friday, if possible around 3PM saying the chaplet of Divine Mercy, or during the day with any other devotion: mass, rosary, angelus, fasting, singing, being silently in nature, repeating slowly “Lord, I trust in you”…

  • Monthly communion of heart

On the last Friday of the month (usually… but it is better to check the website or the parish bulletin to be on the safe side!), the parish will organise a mass/an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament/a prayer time followed by refreshments from 2.00 to 3.00 for all those involved in Pray for our Teens.

On this occasion, names of the young people you have been praying for are going to be placed on a basket at the foot of the altar.

FOR YOU

When you are taken to hospital or if you are dying, all the members of Pray for our Teens are made aware and will do all they can to be at your side and pray with you, especially the chaplet of the Divine Mercy.

Young and old will rejoice.
I will comfort them and turn their mourning into joy,
their sorrow into gladness.
